Psychotherapy
In Service of the Development of the Self in Relationship
At The November Institute, Psychotherapy is structured clinical care for individuals, couples, and families. We take suffering seriously — and we also believe that real relief comes from more than managing symptoms. Our work is oriented toward understanding the patterns that generate distress, and developing the capacity to function differently within them.
Sessions are conducted with clear clinical boundaries and ongoing accountability.
How We Work
Our work focuses on:
Understanding the patterns that repeat in your relationships — not just describing them, but changing them. Becoming less reactive and more deliberate in how you respond to emotional pressure. Clarifying what you actually think, want, and stand for. Staying connected to the people who matter without losing yourself in the process.
Areas of Focus
We work with individuals, couples, and families navigating patterns that repeat in relationships, family life, and work. Common areas of focus include:
-
Ongoing relationship conflict, disconnection, or recurring misunderstandings
-
Anxiety, chronic stress, and feeling reactive or on edge
-
Difficulty setting boundaries or speaking clearly without guilt or escalation
-
Repeating family patterns that show up in adult relationships
-
Feeling responsible for others’ emotions, or relying on others to feel stable
-
Communication that turns into defending, blaming, withdrawing, or shutting down
-
Leadership and work-related strain, including conflict, burnout, or decision fatigue
-
Parenting pressures, co-parenting tension, and challenges with extended family involvement
-
Major transitions—marriage, separation, relocation, career changes, illness, loss
-
A sense of stuckness: knowing what matters but struggling to act consistently
Levels of Care
Services are provided by licensed clinicians and, in some cases, by supervised associate clinicians who are completing their training under structured oversight. We are transparent about who is providing care and can discuss the right fit during the intake process.
All clinicians at the Institute are committed to ongoing learning. We hold ourselves to high standards of professional development, consultation, and ethical practice.
