Overview

  • ...designed to provide an accurate and comprehensive study of the theory, as well as proficiency in its application to family, work, and other relationships, and relationship challenges.

  • This training program provides a framework and place for participants to think through difficulties from the perspective of theory, to clarify their understanding of current dilemmas present in their own lives and the lives of others, and to make contributions toward their own emotional maturity and the emotional maturity of others.

  • Participants from all fields and walks of life are welcome.

  • The training program is about addressing the complexities that come with being human, which we all face no matter what.

Training
Goals

  • Understand how the atmosphere, which includes partners, managers, employees, and clients, is a relationship system influenced by emotional process

  • Learn how “reactivity” influences much of what people do in relationship systems, allowing the emotional to impact the non-emotional

  • Discover the role you play in the above relationship systems, and what you can do to influence everyone to function more effectively

  • Uncover how curiosity leads to better observation of interactions between you and others, and increases the ability to manage yourself in the environment you are in

  • Learn to shift your thinking from taking responsibility FOR others, to being responsible TO them

  • Observe yourself as a leader in your work environment, and explore your role and contribution in decision-making, distinguishing between being a FIXER versus being a RESOURCE

Training
Objectives

  • Get “calm” about the reactivity of others, especially when directed at you

  • Separate your emotions and reactions from those of others so that you can plan your next best step

  • Become more observant of how you function, especially your automatic behaviors and reactions

  • Learn what influences those automatic reactions and how they contribute to the reactions of others

  • Build a plan for managing yourself within your organization

  • Learn how relationship triangles work (e.g., partner–manager–client), what position you tend to take, and what you can do to make the triangle work for you

  • Clarify boundaries between you and others
